Double the Wellness, One Life Moment: January 2024 Edition

Updated: Jan 4, 2024

Happy New Year! I know, it's a bit cliché to say, but seriously, where the heck did 2023 go? From wedding festivities, to our honeymoon, and Alexis' school/sporting events, it was a whirlwind of ups and downs. Nevertheless, it was an incredible year and we're filled with gratitude for it all!

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and feel refreshed for the new year ahead! Keep reading to see what's coming up with S.T.E.

Moeller Moment:

As I mentioned earlier, our family has experienced numerous blessings this year, but among the challenges was Steve's struggle with a herniated disc since August. The journey hasn't been an easy one, impacting his day-to-day life both physically and mentally. Simple tasks became overwhelming, and the pain was constant. Fortunately, he underwent surgery in mid-December, marking a significant milestone on his road to recovery. YAY! This entire experience has prompted me to cherish the small, seemingly ordinary moments—driving, putting away groceries, exercising—things we often take for granted when done without pain or limitations. Check out the quick reel I made here on finding gratitude in each day :)

How to Add Movement Into Your Day

Finding time to incorporate movement throughout the day can be quite a challenge—I've heard this sentiment countless times. I hope these tips can help you take steps towards a more active lifestyle. Check them out here:

  1. Take the stairs: If possible, opt for stairs instead of elevators whenever possible to sneak in extra steps and elevate your heart rate.

  2. Stretch breaks: Take short stretch breaks throughout the day, especially if you have a desk job. Stretch your arms, legs, neck, and back to reduce stiffness and improve circulation. It's a great, quick energy break too!

  3. Walk breaks: Use breaks to take short walks, whether it's around your office building or home.

  4. Take phone calls standing.

  5. Park further away: Park your car a little further away from your destination to add a short walk before and after.

Your wellness journey matters, and I'm here to support you every step of the way. What is one small thing you'll do this week for you? I'd love to hear from you! Message me in the "chat now" feature of my site or email kaylie@strengthtoempower.com
